Performing Arts
The highlight of our Arts Program is our Whole School Production and Arts Alive night, which occur on alternate years.
Our Whole School Production is a night of great excitement as students grace the stage at the Yarra Valley Grammar ‘George Wood Performing Arts Centre’, performing to hundreds of family and friends. All students are involved in participating in class items where they sing and dance. Major roles for acting parts are selected by audition and are developed in weekly rehearsals in preparation for the big night. The stage flourishes with colour, singing, dancing, acting and smiles.
Our Arts Alive night is a celebration of our Visual Art and Music programs combined. All students are involved in a musical performance with their class, which have been developed during music classes. Artwork from the year is displayed and presented as a colourful and exciting art exhibition. In 2018, our theme for Arts Alive was ‘Children of The World’, which took our audience on a music and visual journey of countries around the world. Previous years have seen celebrations of ‘Carnivale’, ‘Flight’ and ‘Books & Literature’.
